For the past ten years I have represented the parishes of Barholm, Baston, Greatford, Langtoft, Stowe, Tallington and Uffington alongside my fellow District Councillor Rosemary Trollope-Bellew as an elected District Councillor for Casewick Ward.
I have lived in and around South Lincolnshire for most of my life, after University I worked for Waitrose in Stamford and I recently worked as an Office Manager in Bourne before becoming Leader of South Kesteven District Council. In my role as a Councillor I work closely with businesses, charities and community organisations to name a few. I keep residents informed of my progress through local parish magazines, attending parish meetings and regular newsletters.
I continue to campaign for low council tax, a more efficient council, to represent the views of the community and to bring a different (possibly more youthful!) perspective. I continue to support local residents in a bypass for Tallington which is crucial to protect the village and also enable traffic to move more freely and support wider economic benefits to our area.
In May 2015 I was re-elected in the Casewick ward, I was subsequently appointed onto the Council's Cabinet as Cabinet Member for Governance & Communications, I held this role until August 2016 when I stepped down from the role.
In April 2017, I was appointed as the Deputy Leader of South Kesteven District Council alongside the role of Cabinet Member for Business Transformation & Commissioning, incorporating many of our Corporate Services such as Customer Services, HR, Legal and Democratic Services.
In May 2019, I was re-elected for a third term as the District Councillor for the Casewick ward. On the 26th September 2019, I was elected as Leader of South Kesteven District Council. My role as Leader of the Council is to provide effective political leadership and strategic direction for the council - this includes developing overall strategy, budgets, policy arrangements and service reviews, and representing the council in the community and in discussions with regional, national and international organisations. I also continue to hold a Cabinet portfolio for Corporate Services and Property.
In May 2021, I was thrilled to be elected as the new Lincolnshire County Council, Councillor for Stamford East Division.
