After a full and rewarding year, my time as Mayor of Stamford has come to an end.
It’s been a huge honour to represent our incredible town – meeting so many people who give their time, passion and creativity to our community has been both humbling and inspiring.
Every Mayor brings something different to the role. I stepped into office with plenty of ideas – some I’ve achieved, others remain on the list – but I’ve learned that public service also means striking a balance. Like many councillors, I’ve juggled the mayoralty with work, family and everyday life. That’s part of what makes our local democracy so real and relatable.
A sincere thank you to the councillors for giving me the opportunity to serve, to the Town Hall team who support the civic calendar with professionalism and warmth, and to Cllr Amanda Wheeler for being a fantastic Deputy and whom I wish every success for her year in office as the 564th Mayor of Stamford.
Although my term as Mayor has come to a close, I’m looking ahead to some exciting things in the next few weeks – and I look forward to sharing more very soon!
