Fixing our roads

Stamford deserves safe, well-maintained roads that reflect the pride we have in our town. If re-elected, I will continue to fight for Stamford to get its fair share of road funding—making sure we receive the investment needed to repair potholes, resurface key routes, and address long-standing safety concerns.

Too often, residents tell me how poor road conditions impact their daily lives—whether it’s dodging potholes, navigating damaged pavements, or dealing with traffic issues near schools and residential areas. These are not just inconveniences; they’re quality-of-life and safety issues, and I’m committed to tackling them head-on.

I’m pleased that funding has already been secured for improvements to Ryhall Road—a key route used by thousands each day. But this is just the beginning. I will continue working to bring forward further investment across Stamford, targeting problem areas and making sure all parts of the town benefit from sustained infrastructure improvements.

This includes not only repairs and resurfacing, but also enhanced signage, better lighting, and thoughtful planning to ensure roads and footpaths are safe for everyone—drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

By keeping up the pressure at County Hall, I’ll make sure Stamford isn’t overlooked when it comes to funding and that our roads and public spaces meet the high standards our community expects and deserves.
